Ardington House is one of our favourite wedding venues and we delighted to be back there to photograph Charlotte and Rory's stunning autumn wedding. The listed Georgian Manor home is set in a spacious and beautiful gardens that includes a river with its own island. I met bride Charlotte and her lovely bridesmaids in the bridal suite bright and early to capture all the excitement of getting ready for the big day whilst Ivor set off to meet Rory and his groomsmen at a nearby hotel to see what the boys were doing.
The light in Ardington house is simply gorgeous with the huge sash windows letting in lots of light whilst the luxurious period decor and furniture make for great props, this really is one of my favourite places to shoot bridal prep. Ivor also managed to grab some cool shots of the boys in the pub beforehand.
St Edwards school (Rory's childhood school) also made for a magnificent backdrop. The historic awnings and beautifully landscaped gardens look gorgeous in the pics.
Arriving back at Ardington and the rain just managed to hold off for the drinks reception and family photos, the dinner was bought forward 20 minutes and we suddenly realised we had only 10 minutes to capture the all important bride and groom shots. Of course we love a challenge and managed to get a good variety of portraits in some of the best bits of the grounds and get our lovely couple to their dinner on time! It was such a rush and we loved the buzz.
Our favourite shot of this wedding however was taken later on in the downpour! We love an atmospheric rain shot and so asked if Charlotte and Rory would be up for braving the weather.... of course with our trusty wedding brolly for this shot. When we gave them the pictures they were as thrilled as we were at the result!
Such a beautiful wedding and lovely couple, it's been hard choosing our favourite pictures to blog about, if you would like to see the full set just visit the gallery here
