We probably do 75% of our wedding photography in Oxford and Oxfordshire, so it's always a nice little adventure for us when we go to a wedding outside of our own "patch". We were really excited about Abi & Ed's London wedding. The hustle & bustle of the city, with it's traffic and high rise buildings, would be a change from the beautiful country estates and manicured lawns we usually shoot at.
The girls were getting ready at Merchant Taylor's Hall on Threadneedle Street, were the wedding reception was also going to be. The boys were getting ready at a hotel next door. The excitement was rising all morning at Merchant Taylor's Hall when the girls were getting ready, it was a great atmosphere.
Abi's gifts to her bridal party was a beautiful thoughtful touch.
Meanwhile at Clerkenwell, the guests were arriving at St James Church. Unfortunately the weather wasn't being to kind to us as the rain rolled in so everyone was making a mad dash into the church under coats and umbrellas. But on a wedding day a bit of rain never dampens the spirits. After the wedding ceremony, it was onto a couple of Routemaster buses for the short trip back to Threadneedle Street.
Merchant Taylor's Hall looked stunning, an amazing wedding venue. There was a lot of rain throughout the day, but in between the showers we did manage to get out for a few shots along the streets outside. The social Stock Exchange, just down the road, made a for a great backdrop, and the short walk to it was a fabulous photo opportunity.
