Jennifer and Mark are two lawyers who met whilst at university in Oxford. So it seemed appropriate to them to come back to this much loved city to get married. We love shooting in Oxford, so were super excited about this wedding when they asked us to be their wedding photographers.
We started our day off, as we usually do, by getting some shots of the morning preparations. Becky dropped me off at the boys hotel just outside of the city, and then went onto the girls at the iconic Randolph Hotel in the centre of Oxford.
The wedding ceremony was then at Magdalen College. The Chapel at Magdalen College was beautiful, bathed in candlelight it looked so romantic, but was a bugger to photograph as it was so dark. Thankfully modern digital cameras are very adept in low light, so we still came away with some stunning shots. After the ceremony we made use of the gorgeous grounds to get some family photos and some of those lovely Bride & Groom shots that seem so appropriate at this venue.
It was then onto the The Oxford Union for the reception. The Oxford Union is a world famous debating society, situated in the heart of Oxford University. There have been so many famous people through the doors here. With the portraits of many influential politicians, actors and writers on the walls, you can feel the history as you wander down the corridors. It also makes a damn good wedding venue. The debating chamber, where the wedding party had their wedding breakfast was spectacular. Helped along by the many little decorations added by Jennifer and Mark.
This is a wedding we'll remember for a long time, we had so much fun and met some lovely people. Here's a few images from the day.
